What you can do
Play head-to-head
Match up with another player. You get a prompt and draw it. They have to guess what it is.
They watch the replay
Your opponent doesn't just see the finished sketch. They watch every stroke land in order, and they're guessing as the picture comes together.
Real drawing tools
Pencil, marker, spray paint, and fill. Every tool and every color is free to use. No coins, no unlocks.
Drawing of the Day
A new prompt arrives each day. Take it on solo when you don't have a match going.
Showcase
Browse drawings from other players, give them a like, or submit your own.
How HankyDoodle works
HankyDoodle turns drawing into a guessing game. Start a match with a friend or another player and take turns. When it is your turn you get a word to draw, and you sketch it on the canvas with pencil, marker, spray paint, and fill.
Here is the twist: your opponent does not just see the finished picture. The app records every stroke, so they watch your drawing replay stroke by stroke and try to guess the word before the picture is done. The sooner they guess, the better the result. Then you swap roles and you do the guessing.
No drawing partner right now? Take on the daily Drawing of the Day prompt on your own, or browse the Showcase to see what other players have made and like your favourites.

About
HankyDoodle is made by Kyle Hankinson and family at Hankinsoft Development in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have built Mac and iOS apps since 2010, mostly developer tools. This one is different.
I made HankyDoodle to play with my wife and kids. We wanted a drawing game we could all jump into together, without coins to grind for or tools locked behind a paywall. So every tool and every color is free for everyone, from the first time you open it. Nothing to unlock, nothing to chase. You just draw.
My family are the real makers here. They have been the first players and the toughest critics since the first sketch, and most of what is good about the app started as something they asked for.
It is free to play and friendly for all ages, and it is available now on the App Store. Download it free for iPhone or iPad.
If you have questions, ideas, or a bug to report, send me an email and I'll get back to you.
